TableBoss 2.0 has been finished. It is almost a complete rewrite of the original component.
What's new in TableBoss 2.0?
The Ext Library
I used the Ext library for the entire user interface, as well as the core engine for all ajax calls and updates. It provides a very stable and consistent cross-browser look and feel, as well as tons of power for development.
How does this affect you? A more stable core engine for TableBoss, as well as a nicer looking interface for the reservation desk. Oh, and Ext is nice enough to include 4 themes for you to choose from so you can match the Reservation Desk to your site. Excellent.
Many kudos go to Jack Slocum and the Ext team for providing such an excellent library.
Joomla 1.5 Compatibility
TableBoss 2.0 is compatible with both Joomla 1.0, and Joomla 1.5. The single install package will work on both systems.
A Smarter Reservation Desk
Starting with TableBoss 2.0, The "Floor Plan" view of the reservation desk has a lookahead field. Now you can see which tables are available for the entire duration of a prospective reservation. You can also see a list of reservations for each table during that time period. Check out the demo for a better explanation.
More configuration options
Now you can customize your email notifications, set up CC fields for internal monitoring, as well as easy customization of the wizard display. Its now possible to restrict the Desk to "Registered" or "Special" groups.
